1) Expansion of One-North Business Park

Expansion of One-North Sub-regional centre

Continuous development of world-class research facilities, business parks, and commercial spaces continue to support activities and firms in biomedical sciences, physical science, engineering, infocomm technology, and media industries. This includes Infinite Studios, the first development within Mediapolis which houses Singapore’s largest soundstages.

Nepal Hill is planned as a leadership training and development hub. Four Acres Singapore, the first global leadership development centre outside of London for global conglomerate Unilever, has already openend. Major industry names like Procter & Gamble, Lucasfilm, ESSEC Business School and MediaCorp have also committed substantial investments to develop their own campuses, which will contribute to the flourishing of the research and business communities at one-north. At Fusionopolis, Phase 5 of development works will pioneer the “Work Office Home Office” (“WOHO”) concept offering flexible spaces for office, living and lifestyle functions.

2) Completion of Stage of Circle Line

Completion of Stage 6 of Circle Line

The 4-km Stage 6 will close the loop for the Circle Line by connecting HarbourFront Station to Marina Bay Station. When the three CCL6 stations of Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward are completed in 2025, the Circle Line will have a total of 33 stations, including 12 interchange stations with other MRT lines. This expansion will connect rail network to more areas such as the southern edge of existing CBD and to support direct east-west travel.

Commuters will be able to enjoy a direct route between areas in the west like Pasir Panjang and Kent Ridge and key employment areas in the CBD, as well as upcoming developments in the Marina Bay area. Commuters travelling from areas like Paya Lebar and Mountbatten will also enjoy faster access to the retail and office centres in the HarbourFront area. As an orbital line, the complete Circle Line will enhance overall connectivity and capacity, and strengthen the resilience of the MRT network by connecting the existing radial lines, create multiple routes between stations, and redistribution passenger load from existing lines

3) Greater Southern Waterfront City

Greater Southern Waterfront City

The planned relocation of the City Terminals and Pasir Panjang Terminal to Tuas will free up 325 and 600 hectares of waterfront land respectively. With the first set of berths at Tuas Port to be operational by 2025, the downtown and southern port area will eventually be phased out. This area is known as the Greater Southern Waterfront. The total area of about 1,000 hectares of land – an area three times the size of Marina Bay – would be up for development in the Greater Southern Waterfront after 2030.

 There are six broad ideas for the Greater Southern Waterfront:

Idea 1: New Opportunities to live, work and play (To create many differentiated waterfront districts, each with unique characters and experiences). Bayfront and Marina Central areas next to CBD are currently under development while Marian South will be launched a few years’ time. Remaining areas including Labrador, Tanjong Pagar and Pulau Brani will be planned and implemented in the longer term.

Idea 2: Extend the city to the Greater Southern Waterfront (new housing, commercial, cultural and entertainment uses to be integrated with both our downtown and the surrounding housing and businesses near the city)

Idea 3: Expand the network of public spaces (Extension of the Central Linear Park in Marina Bay to the waters of Keppel Channel that would overlook Pulau Brani in the distance. Alternatively, a new pedestrian axis that branches out from the Central Linear Park to new city districts could be created and designated as a car-free zone to promote vibrant street life)

Idea 4: Capitalise on Blue Assets (New reservoir created between Tanjong Pagar and Pulau Brani to retain rainwater at the Greater Southern Waterfront and store excess water from the Marina Reservoir that is currently discharged into the sea)

Idea 5: Create a continuous waterfront (30 km-long waterfront for walking, running and cycling)

Idea 6: Connect green and open spaces (To promote biodiversity and augment the green network in the densely built-up city, existing green spaces such as Labrador Park, Berlayer Creek and Mount Faber could be linked to Pulau Brani’s existing hillock through a green corridor)

4) Education Hub around Kent Ridge, Pasir Panjang and Dover

Local Education (Primary, Secondary, Junior College & Polytechnic)

Local education can be found in the Dover area.
