1) Expansion of One-North Business Park

Expansion of One-North Sub-regional centre

Continuous development of world-class research facilities, business parks, and commercial spaces continue to support activities and firms in biomedical sciences, physical science, engineering, infocomm technology, and media industries. This includes Infinite Studios, the first development within Mediapolis which houses Singapore’s largest soundstages.

Nepal Hill is planned as a leadership training and development hub. Four Acres Singapore, the first global leadership development centre outside of London for global conglomerate Unilever, has already openend. Major industry names like Procter & Gamble, Lucasfilm, ESSEC Business School and MediaCorp have also committed substantial investments to develop their own campuses, which will contribute to the flourishing of the research and business communities at one-north. At Fusionopolis, Phase 5 of development works will pioneer the “Work Office Home Office” (“WOHO”) concept offering flexible spaces for office, living and lifestyle functions.

2) Revitalisation of Holland Village

The future development will include a series of ground-floor public spaces divided into three zones: Commons Square, which can hold events such as weekend markets and outdoor performances; Communal Green, which is a courtyard flanked by shops leading to a water court and a terraced water feature; and Pocket Park, which opens into Lorong Mambong in Holland Village.

A series of open walkways will connect these public spaces to the surrounding areas. Through street-paving design, the existing Lorong Liput and Lorong Mambong will be extended into the future development, creating a consistent and distinctive streetscape for the larger Holland Village precinct.

3) Queenstown as a rejuvenated estate

Biggest SERS project happening in Tanglin Halt Estate

31 blocks along Tanglin Halt Road and Commonwealth Drive, which are slated to be demolished under the Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme, or SERS. The affected blocks are 24 to 38, and 40 to 45 Tanglin Halt Road, and 55, 56, 58 to 60, and 62 to 66 Commonwealth Drive. The revamp will also require 157 market and hawker stalls, 50 shops and four eating houses to move out to the new food centre at Dawson. A new Neighbourhood Centre, with a market and food centre, will be built on the vacated site to create a new community node for the surrounding residents.

Rejuvenation of Dawson estate

An array of new amenities will be built in the five new precincts in Dawson, comprising 30 shops, a supermarket, four eateries and social/communal facilities such as childcare centres, education centre, student care centre and senior citizen centre. Together with the current facilities at Dawson Place and upcoming facilities at SkyVille@Dawson and SkyTerrace@Dawson (5 shops, an eating house, a supermarket), they will serve the residents living in Dawson.

The former wet market at 38 Commonwealth Avenue  has been conserved. It will be refurbished to house shops that serve the daily needs of residents in the area. A new two-storey hawker centre with 40 cooked food stalls will be built at Margaret Drive (Site A). The stalls will be offered as replacements to the affected stallholders at Commonwealth Drive Food Centre. Construction of the new hawker centre is expected to commence in 3Q2015. Residents in the Dawson estate can look forward to this new hawker centre, which is expected to be completed in tandem with the new flats in end 2020.
